If Delta had Lived.

I stepped to the side so a little sister could look at her reflection in the water. She raised a hand to her eyes,
feeling around them, smiling. I smiled through my helmet. "Father, we're going to move the elevator to the shore,
mind helping me figure out how?" Eleanor asked, placing a hand on my shoulder. I shook my head and followed Eleanor
to the elevator. Sophia was still in there, taking deep breathes with her
oxygen mask. I frowned. Eleanor may forgive her, but im not one to forgive easily.
She had put me through hell, and i intended to simply ignore her. I wouldn't hurt
her, not because I forgave her obviously, but because I wouldn't do that to Eleanor.
Our bond may be broken but that didn't mean I loved her any less.
Eleanor pulled a lever on the side and the door opened and water flushed out, back
into the ocean. Lamb slowly stood to her feet and rung out her hair. She removed
the oxygen mask and glared at me, her eyes full of hatred. I glared back, although
im positive she couldn't tell, but it didn't matter. It was nice sometimes to hide it. I sighed and walked past Lamb with
Eleanor. She scowled as she walked up to the control pannel, studying it closely. I noticed a pannel was closed. I reached
down and opened it. Underneath was a scanner in the shape of a circle. It spun in circles, a red dot on the top right was
fading in and out, beeping when it faded in. I tapped it and nudged Eleanor softly, trying to get her attention. She
looked towards me, "Did you find something father?" I nodded and pointed at the scanner. She smiled, "This is it! We can
use this to find another ship, maybe they can bring us to the shore!" She turned some knobs and pushed some buttons,
causing the elevator to blacken, then a red light came on, making the room deep red. The elevator began to shake and I
looked out a window and noticed that the elevator. I looked at Eleanor in confusion. It could go through water?
"We can't got he wrong way becasue we dont have much fuel, let's hope the thing on the scanner is a ship." Eleanor told
me, setting course and walking back to Lamb. I followed. I walked past them and leaned against the side of the elevator,
watching the little sisters play.
"But Brooke, we can't play tag here! There isn't enough room, you'll fall!" A little sister wearing a purple dress told
another little sister. Well, I suppose they weren't little sisters anymore, so, little girl.
"Ah, Nikki don't be that way! Im sure there is plenty of room!" Brooke told her, raising her hands.
"I don't know how you survived." I turned to see Lamb speaking to me, Eleanor doing something else. I stood
straight, narrowing my eyes. "But I'm going to see to it that you will die. She is MY daughter, and I won't have you in
the way."
"What are you talking about?" Eleanor came up, tilting her head.
"Nothing." Lamb spoke. Straightening her dress and walked back into the elevator. Eleanor turned to me, "I know you don't
like mother, but please get along with her, she means a lot to me." I nodded. "And one more thing... well... it's been
ten years... and I was wondering... could you maybe, take off your helmet for me? Im just curious."I blinked in surprise.
I wasn't expecting that. I hesitated, wondering how I would look after ten years. I slowly raised my hands and placed them
on my helmet, looking at Eleanor before so. She looked excited. I turned my helmet and it filled with air. I turned it back
and lifted it off of my head, holding it under my arms. Eleanor froze. She leaned in and blinked, watching me closely. I
smiled vaugly, wanting to know too. She grabbed my hand, her face unchanging, and walked over to the edge, leaning over and
pointing to the water, wanting me to look at my reflection. I braced myself and took a look.
It wasn't near as bad as I expected. My hair was gone, and my face looked really tight. My ears were back a little
farther then they should have probably been, and my eyes were glowing pale blue. the color of my skin was really pale,
like a greyish color. I blinked, touching my face. I opened my mouth, trying to say something but no words came out.
It was as if I couldn't breathe. In fact, I couldn't. I could only breathe through my nose, which was a little wider and
and a little shorter. I was confused. I had seen other Big Daddies remove their helmets and they didnt even appear human
anymore. Their teeth were gone and their eyes had lost their color. Their ears were pointy and their face was narrower.
Maybe it was becasue I had only been a Big daddy for eleven years. And ten of them I was dead. Maybe that's why I didn't
look like a monster yet. I wondered if the surface had something to help me get back to normal. I couldn't remove my
suit that was one thing I was sure of. It was almost a part of me, and if i did manage to get it off, it would be E
EXTREMELY painful. and it didn't matter anyway. I raised my helmet and latched it back on, sealing it. I might not be
too bad, but I was still ugly as hell, and I might scare the little girls.
Eleanor placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled, "You don't look that bad Father." I looked at her and stepped away from
the edge. Eleanor frowned and patted my back, walking over to the elevator to check to see where the ship was. Lamb was
walking for me again. I groaned. Didn't she get the message? "Delta." I didn't look at her. She continued anyway,
"Eleanor was lieing to make you feel better. Your the ugliest thing I have ever seen." I clenched my teeth and turned to her.
I raised a fist, ready to just hit the shit out of her. Her eyes grew wide and she raised her hands, offering feeble
protection. I shook my head and lowered my hand, growling and walking back to the elevator. Lamb watched me go, calming
down. If that didn't get through her head, I don't know what will. I really was about to hit her too, but thought
better of it. If only Eleanor wasn't here... I would have done it too.
"father! It is a ship!" Eleanor called to me from the elevator. I looked towards the water and saw a HUGE ship in the
distance. Eleanor ran up and wrapped her arms around my waist. I placed a hand on her back, "You know father, they might
be able to help you. We'll see." I smiled and watched the little girlst bounce with excitement. "We can finally play
tag!"
"Shush Nikki!" Brooke laughed and nudged her playfully. As we neared the ship, a man pointed for us and a horn blew, the
ship turning towards us. Just then, the elevator died and slowly came to a stop.
We were going to land. Eleanor walked to the little girls and sat down, they surrounded her, "Now everyone, we are going
to land, it will be very different, but it will be so much more safe, and you will finally get to be little girls again."
They all smiled and laughed, hugging Eleanor and tlking with her. She laughed and talked back, enjoying their company.
I waited patiently for the ship to arrive. I watched as Lamb walked to the edge as the ship lowered a ladder and the little
girls began to climb up. Once they were there, Eleanor and then Lamb were up. I slepped on the first step and slowly
ascended to the ship, climbing over the edge. Several people gasped and took sever steps back, "Oh my god!" I frowned.
I shoud have figured people would have reacted this way.
"What have they been doing down there?!" Several people said, looking at eachother with worried looks. I blinked. It didn't
matter what they thought, at least I was alive. Lamb smiled, looking at me smugly at people comments. I sighed. This was
going to be a long life.
